The house is on the Isle of Skye, part of the Inner Hebrides and about 150 miles North West of Glasgow.
The main route on to Skye is over the Skye Bridge, now toll free. On Skye you drive towards Broadford but before you reach the village centre a road goes off left (west) signposted for Armadale. Take that road and after approximately 8 miles, a mile or so after passing Isle Ornsay there is a road on the right signposted to Ord.
If you come on the ferry from Malaig to Armadale, the Ord turnoff is on the left about 4 miles along the road to Broadford
This is quiet, single track road; well made and maintained but narrow so take your time and give way to cars both in front and behind. If there are cattle on the road drive slowly through them. They are used to cars but can be slow to get out the way. After about 2 miles you reach the highest point and are rewarded with a spectacular view of the Cuillin of Skye. After this you go down a steep hill, watch out for Golden Eagles who nest on the left side of the road.
When you arrive at Ord 4 miles later turn right off the off the main road (the only right turn) about 100 meters before you reach the sea, into the main part of the village( hamlet) of Ord. Do not take the road which goes off left steeply downhill towards the sea.
Follow the road for about 500 meters. It winds a bit and there is a sign outside the big house "Ord House" (where Boswell and Johnstone stayed on their grand tour of Scotland) saying it is a private road but carry on past this. The road leads directly to the house which sits on a small hill just through the village. Cuillin View is the first house at the top of the hill.
